Soooo true! I am so glad that you are safe!! We have a few RTW "war stories" too and I have been amazed at the standards even in Europe.

Actually I am amazed that more people do not get injured or killed. Just crossing the street in Paris or Athens ( they have almost no cross walks and nutty drivers!!) is taking your life in your hands, let alone what they do with fire crackers with kids close by during festivals in every village in Spain.Yikes..and the cars and roads in Morocco!

We are in Santorini now which is gorgeous, but the better the spectacular view, the more I have to worry about my active 6yo falling off the caldera! Life on the road is adventure and more so with kids. I have to give you kudos for doing this with 4! I am a nervous nellie, so I would be grey by now. ;)

Take good care!!

scary! Forget about people with hostile intentions; unintentional injury and disease are my biggest fears when traveling in less developed countries. Not that I've traveled outside the US in the past 10 years; but I still have the occasional flashback to similar close calls that run chills up my spine. But I guess that's what makes life interesting.

I hate to say it, but parasailing places, there or here in the states are the same I think. Possibly here in the states there are better ropes, hooks and such...but the shove you in the harnesses and you are airborne before you can even consider changing your mind...
